About Chris MacLeod Contracting

Western Canada Construction BoomChris Macleod grew up in Charlottetown, PEI. After high school, he attended Holland College and studied the Construction Technology Program. After completing the program he moved to British Columbia in search of employment. Chris initially found work as a construction estimator / project co-coordinator for a small general contracting business handling large scale commercial and industrial projects. As a project co-coordinator, one of the bigger obstacles was co-coordinating excavating contractors, so he purchased a piece of excavating equipment. This was Chrisís start in self-employment.

Western Canada was in the beginning of a construction boom. After a few years of estimating, it was time for a change. Rather the general contracting, Chris specialized in concrete construction. Chris started his own business. Two factors were key to his business, the support of his family and experience gained from previous employers.

The business and size of projects grew very fast. Chris started out doing residential foundations, floor slabs, sidewalks and landscaping projects. It wasn't long before Chris was handling major municipality infrastructure projects, Residential and Commercial foundations as well as industrial and oilfield construction and maintenance.

Chris and his wife had always wanted to raise their two children on Prince Edward Island, where both had grown up. They relocated back to the Island in the fall of 2008. Since that time, Chris Macleod Contracting (1999) Ltd has been very busy. Chrisís success is based on hard work, long hours and dedication.
